Called to Gospel Ministry

Family
My wife fully supports my desire to shepherd God's people.

Calling
Since my conversion to Christ in 1991, I have had an interest in full-time Christian ministry. After a number of years of organizing conferences, speaking at conferences and church related events, I was directed to finish my college education, go to seminary and pursue pastoral ministry. I am currently engaged in my 1st semester of my 3rd year at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, located in Taylors, SC.

Called to Serve
My desire is that God will use me to shepherd the people of God; this calling comes from Eph. 4:6-11. Paul writes that the pastor/teacher is called to equip God’s people for works of service. There is much including in this equipping of the saints that my heart longs for, such as: preaching and teaching the Word of God, pastoral visitation, building relationships with other men and equipping them toward leadership, and caring the spiritual needs of the congregation.

Called to serve includes being involved in the community as much as I can, making known to the community, that the Church exists to seek out the lost, bringing them into the kingdom and bring them under the nurture and admonition of the Lord. I would seek to implement a biblical model for evangelism and community outreach.

Most of my ministry has consisted of serving adults, but I believe our children are vitally important to the life of the Church. It is important that our children receive the best biblical education, so that they are grounded in the word of God (having a biblical worldview). It is also vitally important for boys and girls to live out there Christian walk in all areas of their life and therefore, the leaders of the Church need to lead by example.

Future
Neither my wife nor I know where the Lord will lead us after my seminary training. We pray that God will open up a door for a long-term pastoral position, where my family and the congregation can grow together as the body of Christ, for many years.
